- Students researched their assigned animal.
- Students created posters illustrating the information found.
- Students wrote a report on the researched animal.
- Students had a session of peer editing to make corrections to their written reports.
- Students presented their reports to the class!
This week, students combined our informational writing (W1-3) & habitats (L1) standards into one culminating project.

During our Poetry unit, students channeled their creative juices and wrote two forms of original poetry! Our Guest Speaker for STEM Day was a senior network engineer for a huge airline!!! Thank you, Mr. Stocker, for coming to share all of the exciting things you do as an engineer AND for encouraging us to REACH for our goals! Students were grouped and assigned two Georgia animals. Students were asked to plan, construct and analyze a habitat model that would allow their assigned animals to thrive! After students constructed their habitats, they presented them to the class!

During our unit for Elapsed Time, students had the opportunity to solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals to the nearest minute.
